Miami Marlins Run Line -1.5 EVEN (Draft Kings):
A Miami Marlins team that had displayed so much promise early on in the season came crashing down to Earth like the meteorite that killed the dinosaurs and flattened the world (probably what Kyrie Irving believes). Despite all of that, this young team has a bright future thanks to a lineup with potential and a pitching rotation that could be among the league’s best in a few seasons. One of the main reasons for that is star Trevor Rogers.
A young lefty that throws mid to high 90’s with devastating off speed pitches and strong command, Rogers has been on fire in 2021. The 23-year-old is the biggest reason I am backing a strong performance from Miami this evening against a pathetic Rockies team. If you haven’t been paying attention to Colorado (and why would you?), then you probably have failed to learn that they are…. Get ready for it…. 5-23 on the road this year; FIVE AND TWENTY-THREE!!! At even money, the price is way too generous to pass up on with Rogers on the bump at home facing a lineup that averages a paltry 2.4 runs on the road this season.
With a liability named Chi Chi Gonzalez on the bump for the Rockies, there is a better than good chance he gets yanked before completing 5 innings (only 2 starts passed 5 innings out of 12 this season), which signifies a long night for an oft used bullpen. Although the Marlins offense is nothing to write home about, it’s not out of the question to see them plate 4 runs this evening, the figure they average across 26 home games this season.
Combining the factors of the sub 2.00 ERA Rogers is towing the rubber against an awful road team that snuck out a win last night and is unlikely to do it twice in a row, the stats/trends, and the even money value, I’d say Miami is a strong bet to win tonight’s game by at least 2 runs.
Your honor, no objections.
